Like the sound of a fan turning off and slowly whirring to a halt, 2025 has been for me a graciously slower year with the counterintuitive effect of immense progress in every category—albeit a quieter, deeper form.
After the upheaval of the last few years and then a chaotic couple of years personally for me, I found myself no longer resonating with a lot of my go-to circles, identifiers, and plans; the shape of reality was changing around me, and from a deep intuition I felt increasingly compelled to accept a major and welcome reset, via stepping back in too many ways to name.
For those without a spiritual context, something like this can be difficult to explain, but for me it’s been an undeniable, distinct, gentle calling back into peace, creativity, quiet, and depth. It’s been an emptying, followed by a now beautiful, deliberate filling up (which, it seems to me, is ready to overflow into public again soon).
I have had little to say, and zero desire to contribute to the online cacophony for the mere sake of it, especially as it continually seems to devolve into meaningless noise for the benefit of those without principle or higher purpose—not as a universal, but certainly as a common and world-shaping phenomenon.
What I can say now, however, is that it’s delightful for me to realize nothing about my work or desires for my craft and life have been altered. Nothing has been burned away but du jour dross, leaving me more head and heart space to start picking up the guitar again, enjoying a slower, more deliberate life, and contemplating the long-term dreams of my heart taking clearer shape as time goes on.
I also slowed my music releases due to some personal constraints, although am pointing my attention to those again now. I’ve been developing an art & culture podcast I’ll be launching soon, finishing up arts and music courses for my membership platforms, and aligning more deeply and intentionally with those who want to do the deep and sacred work our culture needs at this critical moment and truly move the needle.
I am going to get back to those things now, but wanted to say hello here in the meantime.
There will be more soon, but for now, I’ll just say that it’s lovely to be alive, and to be an artist, and to be free.
If you’d like to be a deeper part of what I am building and creating, you can find me at https://www.kayclarity.art, https://www.catholicsong.com, or https://www.humannobility.org. I’d be thrilled to see you there.
You can also, of course, listen to my work wherever you stream music. I’ll link Spotify links here: poetic folk, contemplative religious, and electro-pop.
My supporters are the lifeblood of everything I do and make it all possible, so thank you for being here and for all of the ways you have encouraged me in fighting for beauty. Happy to have you here, always.
